The Efteling Theme Park

Visitors have been able to enjoy a hot snack from vending machines at Efteling since 2002. At the time, 47 coin-operated hot snack vending machines were installed, dispersed over 4 locations.

The vending machines were up for replacement, and due to the introduction of contactless payment, Efteling decided to replace all of its vending machines in three phases with new electronic vending machines in 2018. The new window vending machines are equipped with coin-operated and Payter contactless payment options, which has helped increase turnover. Around 60% of visitors now pay contactless and sales have increased by more than 50%.
